#1 SOMMELIER - CANADA’S TOP 100 BEST RESTAURANTS
In April 2019, I was presented with the award of Canada’s #1 Sommelier from the publication that is Canada’s Top 100 Best Restaurants . It was an award that I totally did not expect. The awarded Sommelier is determined by a series of ‘undercover’ judges who have dined at Alo over the year and then place their votes. There you have it, they voted. I feel like the ‘Obama’ of the Canadian Sommelier World!

2. WINE WIRE CHAT!
Wine Wire is a recent website start up venture led by Adam Bekhor and Nelson Abreu. Both individuals I met nearly 7 years ago while running the wine program for Mercatto onToronto Street. Adam would come in for lunch and we would geek out about wine! At the time he was running a Facebook page called 'Adam's Wine of the Week'. Now hundreds of glasses of wine later we caught up in January of this year to talk wine.
